World famous data analyst gives Champions League prediction - where Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City come

Barcelona look the most likely to win the Champions League.

That's according to Nate Silver's Five Thirty Eight website, who have created a data model to find out which club stands the most chance of being crowned the best of Europe's elite.

Silver was named one of the world's 100 most influential people after correctly calling the outcomes of the 2008 and 2012 US elections, but his background is actually in sports data.

His website now says that Barca have a 30 per cent chance of winning the Champions League following last night's victory over Manchester United.

In fact, they have a 52 per cent of reaching the final.

In a quirk, the second-most likely team to win the tournament, Liverpool, will more than likely face Barca in the semi-finals.

The Reds are set to play Porto tonight in the second leg but take a 2-0 lead into the tournament.

The Championship supercomputer prediction Leeds United and Aston Villa fans will love

Jurgen Klopp's men are rated as 27 per cent likely to win the final, and a 47 per cent of making the final.

Third-most likely are Manchester City, who have a 23 per cent chance of winning the final and a 41 per cent chance of reaching the final - but first they have to overcome Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

Ajax, who beat Juventus last night, are the fourth-most likely, with an 11 per cent chance of winning the final and a 34 per cent chance of qualifying for it.

Spurs are the fifth-most likely to be crowned champions, being given an eight per cent likelihood and a 25 per cent chance of making the final.

Porto are the least likely, with under a one per cent chance of winning the tournament and under a one per cent chance of reaching the final.
