World Darts Championship draw in full: Luke Littler learns opponent for first match of title defence

Luke Littler will face Darius Labanauskas in his opening match at the World Darts Championship.

The 18-year-old is bidding to defend the title he won at Alexandra Palace in January when he beat Michael van Gerwen in the final.

Littler recently became the new world No1 and he has already won the UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship this year.

He is bidding to emulate Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis and Gary Anderson by becoming just the fourth player to retain the World Darts Championship title.

The World Darts Championship starts on December 11 and the final will be on January 3.

The 2025-2026 World Darts Championship will see an extended 128-player field vying to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy and claim the £1million prize money for the winner.

In a change from recent years, all players will enter the tournament in the first round.

Labanauskas is a two-time world championship quarter-finalist, reaching the last eight at the 2017 BDO World Championship and the 2020 PDC World Championship.

Litter’s main rival Luke Humphries will face Ted Evetts, while Van Gerwen faces Mitsohiko Tatsunami as the Dutchman targets a fourth title at Alexandra Palace.

Raymond van Barneveld, the five-time world champion, will face Stefan Bellmont and Stephen Bunting takes on Sebastian Bialecki.
