World Cup winner Felix Jones expected to return to Limerick

World Cup winner Felix Jones is expected back in Limerick in the coming weeks and will be greeted with a warm welcome when he returns with his gold medal.

It was a shock to the Munster coaching set-up to lose Jones and Jerry Flannery after they announced their departures prior to the end of last season.

Johann van Graan responded by bringing in Australian great Stephen Larkham to replace Jones and Graham Rowntree for Flannery.

Dubliner Jones, who played for Leinster and Munster, went on to join Rassie Erasmus' World Cup winning set-up.

"It has been incredible," said head coach van Graan. "He will be over in Limerick in the coming weeks to come and say hello.

"I said months ago that he is someone we tried to retain. I'm so happy for him. He has gone on to win a World Cup.

"The way he has conducted himself, and everything the players have said about him...it's very difficult going into a different nation

"(Coming in) just before the World Cup is difficult but everyone speaks so highly of him. We are incredibly proud of Felix to win a World Cup, he is a Munster man".
