World Cup supercomputer predicts England's tournament and Brazil vs Belgium final

England have been backed to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup by a supercomputer which has also predicted that Brazil will win the tournament.

The Three Lions' prospects have been calculated by the algorithm, which has been devised by BetVictor, to predict their chances of coming out on top in the tournament which begins on Sunday. England begin their campaign in Group B a group which they have been given a 45% chance of topping with a 73% chance of qualification.

Gareth Southgate's side are among the favourites to win the tournament in Qatar and have been given an 8% chance of emerging victorious. This means that they will be one of the front-runners when the tournament reaches its latter stages, with only Brazil (14%), Belgium (13%), and Argentina (10%) ahead of them.

In a surprise call, Southgate's side have been predicted to reach the semi-finals after beating France at the quarter final stage, with the model even forecasting that they will beat the current world champions 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. However, this run is projected to come to an end against Belgium, with a 2-0 win forecast against the Red Devils who boast Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne.

With Belgium projected to reach the final as the world's number two ranked team, they are precited to come unstuck in the final against the might of Brazil, with the team which has recently taken their status as the number one ranked team in the world. The five-time winners are many peoples' favourites to win, something which will provide the team managed by Tite with huge pressure ahead of a competition they have not won since 2002.
