World Cup officials announced by Fifa with two Premier League referees picked

EPL Fifa World Cup Anthony Taylor Michael Oliver FIFA World Cup (Organization)

Michael Oliver and Anthony Taylor have been selected as the English on-field referees for the 2026 Fifa World Cup.
Fifa announced a total of 52 on-field referees, 88 assistant referees, and 30 video assistant referees for the record-high 48-team, 104-game tournament.
England will have six representatives in total, with Gary Beswick, Stuart Burt, James Mainwaring, and Adam Nunn supporting Oliver and Taylor as assistant referees.
This will be the second World Cup appearance for both Oliver and Taylor, who previously officiated at the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
New rules for the 2026 World Cup include a 10-second time limit on substitutions and a five-second countdown for throw-ins and goal-kicks, with referees also set to wear body cameras.
