Hibernian defender Rocky Bushiri has been forced to withdraw from DR Congo’s squad for the World Cup due to injury.
The 26-year-old went off with a suspected Achilles issue in last Saturday’s William Hill 1-0 Premiership defeat at home to Motherwell.
Bushiri was subsequently named in Sebastien Desabre’s official 26-man squad for the upcoming showpiece in North America on Monday.

But Hibs revealed on Wednesday that the centre-back is now out of the tournament.
“Everyone is devastated for Rocky and the timing of this injury couldn’t be worse for him so close to the World Cup,” manager David Gray told Hibs’ website.
“Rocky has worked so hard for us this season and he earned himself the opportunity to compete at the World Cup for his performances at both club and international level.
“We will all rally around Rocky and make sure he gets our full support from everyone at the club.”
