NEW DELHI: Five-time champions Australia face 1992 edition winners Pakistan in the 18th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in Bengaluru on Friday.
In the 107 ODIs played between the teams from 1975 to 2022, Australia have defeated Pakistan 69 times and lost 34 matches. One match ended in a tie, while three games ended as no-result.
Australia defeated Sri Lanka in their last match after starting this World Cup with two defeats against South Africa and India.
Pakistan, having seen off the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, suffered a seven-wicket humbling by arch-rivals India in their third match.
In conditions similar to India, Australia lost 1-2 in Pakistan last year.
In the ICC ODI rakings, Pakistan are at the second spot, while Australia are ranked fourth.
Batters are expected to make merry on the flat Bengaluru track, and bowlers may have their task cut out to keep the total to as low as possible.
