World Cup 2026: England star issues Erling Haaland vs Harry Kane verdict ahead of Norway clash

Ezri Konsa is looking forward to “witnessing greatness” when Erling Haaland and Harry Kane lock horns in England’s World Cup quarter-final, and has revealed who he sees as Norway’s secret threat.

Konsa is expected to start in Miami when the Three Lions face the Vikings on Saturday for a place in the last four of this year’s tournament.

The leadup to the match has been dominated by talk of two of the world’s best strikers being pitted against each other at Miami Stadium in the form of captain Kane and Manchester City striker Haaland, who is Norway’s all-time leading scorer despite having been born in Leeds.

Konsa said: “It is going to be a test. I think every game is a test.

“We all know Haaland's qualities and what he can do in front of goal, but I have full belief, full confidence in the defence. As long as we stay 100 per cent focused, I'm sure we'll be alright.”

Aston Villa’s Konsa added: “Two strikers on top of their game right now. It'll be nice to witness greatness on the pitch.”

The centre-back was asked who he sees as Norway’s other threats.

He replied: “The left winger, [Antonio] Nusa. He seems pretty good. [Martin] Odegaard, who we're quite familiar with.

“They've got that tall right winger, [Alexander] Sorloth. Sander Berge, the midfielder from Fulham. We know they've got a lot of quality as well, so we're going to have to be on our A-game to overcome them.”
