The World Cup kicks off this Sunday with many around the country set to do a sweepstakes to rev up their interest in the tournament.
In a rare change the World Cup takes place in the winter time and starts right in the middle of the European domestic seasons.
And although Ireland will not be at the tournament, having failed to get past Portugal and Serbia to earn a spot at the tournament, thousands will be doing a sweepstakes.

What is a sweepstakes and how do I play?
The rules are simple for a sweepstakes as a number of people will usually pay an entrance fee to enter the stakes.
Each person in the sweepstakes will be assigned a country after a random draw and the winner takes the pot.
It is up to the tournament organiser if they would like to add extra rules such as a runner up price or even something funkier such as most goals conceded.
