World champion Sunny Edwards beats up Twitter troll who travelled 200 miles for fight

World champion Sunny Edwards handed a beating to an internet troll after he travelled 200 miles to confront the unbeaten fighter.

Twitter user Fab Tanga spend £110 on a train ticket from London to Sheffield on Saturday before posting a photo of himself outside flyweight Edwards' gym. Once informed the troll was there, Edwards drove to the gym with his two young children in the back of his car.

"I'm on the way right now, don't go anywhere you little f***ing helmet," Edwards said in a video posted from his car on his way to the gym. Upon realising Edwards' children were in the car, Tanga tweeted: "I don't fight in front of children , what hell is that, a joke? What the f*** he have in his brain, mould?"

But Edwards then began streaming the 'fight' on his social media channel with the footage showing Tanga struggling from the opening 'exchanges'. Edwards landed several headshots in the early stages but was advised by onlookers to focus on his opponent's body.

Tanga was clearly in distress after the first session but continued into the second round, despite appearing to have little or no boxing experience. But a right hand from Edwards sent his troll across the ring and into the ropes and he ultimately threw in the towel due to exhaustion.

He later posted: "I want just say with all my heart, thank you Sunny Edwards, you demonstrated to me that in UK there are at least one SUPER CHAMPION, I will pray the God to protect you, your family and friends. He is fast, he is really f***ing fast."

It is unclear why Tanga took up his beef with Edwards, who is from London but who trains in the Steel City. The troll yesterday posted: "I promise, Sunny Edwards, I promise on my life that if you are not going to answer, Tomorrow morning I will be in front of your gym between 11 and 12. If you let me spend the money I use to eat and you will not there, I will walk all Sheffield screaming that you are a coward."

He later added: "For the little I know about Sunny Edwards, I and him we don't give a s*** of what you think, we want just fight. Probably we will not sleep tonight, probably tomorrow morning our adrenaline can turn on the light of the whole UK. He is a warrior, he will be there, we will fight as warriors."

This weekend's incident is not the first time a boxer has taken a troll up on their offer. In 2015, then heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder dished out a beating to Charlie Zelenoff. Wilder flew from Los Angeles for the 'fight' and left his abuser on the canvas.
