One thing you can always guarantee on World Book Day is that people in Liverpool love a good laugh.
Both parents and kids push the fancy dress theme of their favourite book characters to the limit and this year was no exception.
The variety of costumes were vast and we've seen everything from Alice in Wonderland, Harry Potter and The BFG to Matilda, Willy Wonka and everything in between.
But this year we saw some stand out efforts which made us grin from ear to ear for their attention to detail, creativeness, uniqueness and in some cases for their downright cuteness.
So here's a few we handpicked that made us chuckle. Enjoy.
We can't have fancy dress in Liverpool without a Jurgen Klopp lookalike and Lois Coy shared the above picture of her son as the popular Liverpool FC manager for World Book Day.

We couldn't stop laughing at this bundle of cuteness, Poppy aged eight months, sent in by her mum Rebekah Warren. Little Poppy is portraying Violet Beauregarde after she blows up like a blueberry in Roald Dahl's classic book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Next, we have a very topical choice of a child dressed in a protection suit possibly brought on by coronavirus in the news at the moment.
Vicky Pepper sent in this picture of her baby Ari Pepper, aged one, who is from Netherton dressed as Begbie from Trainspotting.
Harry is really pulling off Freddie Mercury's style with his costume, thanks to his mum Helen Wood for sharing with us.

And finally top marks have to go to Honey Lally for this amazing gumball machine costume, it looks amazing!
We received more than 1,600 pictures through our Facebook page but we could only choose a small selection of pictures so we hope you're not too disappointed.
It wasn't only kids across Merseyside who got dressed up. Celeb mums including Jennifer Ellison, Coleen Rooney, Rochelle Humes and Stacey Solomon also shared pics of their cute kids in their World Book Day outfits.
