World Book Day finalists revealed by The Reader

The Reader has revealed their finalists in their World Book Day competition to win a class trip to The Storybarn.

The 30 entries from children at schools across Merseyside were chosen by judges at The Reader and the winner will be revealed tomorrow on World Book Day.

Kids were asked to show The Reader what they love about their favourite book by sending in a drawing, painting or collage.

The artwork ranges from their favourite characters to places in the book and their favourite scenes from the story.

Holly Wagstaff, Storybarn developer, said: " We were so excited to receive over 150 entries to our Storybarn competition – how brilliant to see so many children loving books across the city.

"We’ve got our work cut out for us to choose a winner when we’ve got so many fabulous entries."

One lucky child will win a trip for all their classmates to The Storybarn.

The interactive story centre is for young people to explore, share and discover their love of books.

It features live-reading from story-sharers, crafts and even a giant slide.
