Workshop to Rationalize Energy Consumption in Saudi Public Sector

Saudi Energy Efficiency Center held on Monday the third workshop in Jeddah on the mechanism of rationalization of electricity consumption in the government’s public sector.

The workshop was attended by representatives of the Kingdom’s public sector.

It included an explanation of the most important data required from government agencies, mechanism of providing the center with data related to consumption of electricity from the technical coordinator in each governmental body and its role in following up the preparation and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for the most used electrical appliances.

In addition to that, the workshop presented e-platform to collect data of the government bodies’ buildings and training programs provided by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center and contribute to raising and qualifying the competent human cadres in the public and private sectors to carry out rationalizing and upgrading energy efficiency tasks.

The attendees were briefed about the center’s role in the field of rehabilitating the Saudi market of energy efficiency services' companies in addition to an overview of the National Energy Services Company’s (Tarshid) work.

The Center has previously carried out two workshops in Riyadh in the framework of implementing the mechanism of rationalization of electricity consumption in the government’s public sector.

They aim at applying the necessary standards to increase the efficiency of electricity consumption in all existing public facilities and institutions.

It also provided government authorities with a summary of the technical specifications and regulations for the energy efficiency required to be achieved in the public sector’s buildings.
