Works being carried out in Paisley, Linwood and Johnstone to boost the power network

SP Energy Networks is carrying out essential works to improve the network in Paisley, Linwood and Johnstone.

A team is improving an overhead line and transmission tower close to the A737 junction at Howwood.

To ensure the works can be carried out safely, it has been be necessary to install temporary traffic lights, floodlights and roadside safety netting.

SP Energy Networks - the electricity network operator in the Greater Glasgow area – will be working in the area until Saturday morning.

A company spokesman said: "This necessary work will make a real difference to the resilience and reliability of the local electricity network.
