Working with Centre to bring people back: West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

KOLKATA: Chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that the Centre and the state are working jointly to help the people from Bengal, who have been stuck in Afghanistan, to return home safely.

However, she didn’t reveal the exact details of how the coordination is being maintained. “We will inform the details when they are provided with the Centre,” she said.

She also added that TMC representatives will be attending the all-party meeting called by the minister of external affairs, S Jaishankar, on August 26, to discuss the Afghan crisis. “We will definitely attend Thursday’s all-party meeting on Afghanistan,” the chief minister said.
