Director of Powering Chicago
In recent weeks, members of IBEW Local 134 and the Electrical Contractors’ Association of Chicago — the partnership known as Powering Chicago — have powered the rapid expansion of medical facilities throughout Cook County, including converting McCormick Place for use as a field hospital, delivering groceries and household essentials to 60 union retirees in need, and making a $25,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.
“At a time like this, every second counts,” said Powering Chicago Director Elbert Walters. “The unionized electrical industry will continue to provide whatever support is needed at a moment’s notice to help the communities where we work and live get through this crisis.”
