Workers evacuate after Kingston office fire

More than 30 people were evacuated from a Kingston office complex following a fire on Tuesday morning.

Crews were called to the complex on Wentworth Avenue about 11.15am.

An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesman said an electrical short in the building had caused one of the rooms to become logged with smoke.

Everyone safely evacuated the building with no injuries reported.

Hazmat teams remain on the scene carrying out air-ventilation operations and atmospheric monitoring to make sure the building is safe to re-enter.
