Worker threatened with weapon in armed robbery at Sneinton store

A shop worker was threatened by a man holding an 'unknown weapon' wrapped in a plastic bag during an armed robbery in Sneinton.

Armed officers and a police helicopter were sent to the robbery which happened at Johnno's Mini Market, Sneinton Road, at around 8.05pm on Sunday, March 24.

The shop worker defended himself, police said, but the man escaped with a small amount of cash from the till.

The worker was unhurt during the incident.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson said: "Armed officers and a police helicopter responded to the incident but the man was not traced.

"Officers are continuing to conduct enquiries in the area today and are appealing for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or has CCTV or dash-cam footage to call 101, quoting incident number 754 of March 24, 2019, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
