A 23-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being injured at an Aberdeenshire gas terminal on Saturday morning.
Emergency services were called to St Fergus Gas Terminal, near Peterhead, around 9am after reports of a worker being injured.
A 23-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
An internal investigation has been launched and the Health and Safety Executive will be notified.
Police Scotland, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service attended the incident after the plant temporarily lost power due to electrical maintenance.
The worker is said to be "in good spirits" after treatment in hospital following the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.10am on Saturday, 17 April we were made aware of a man injured while working at the St Fergus Gas Terminal near Peterhead.
"Emergency services attended and a 23-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
"The Health and Safety Executive was to be notified."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue service confirmed five appliances and two specials responded to an incident at the gas terminal at 9.08am and later left at 10.26am.
A spokesperson for Shell said: “One worker who sustained injury at St Fergus gas plant is being treated in hospital, and is in good spirits.
"We are informing the Health & Safety Executive as industry regulator, and we will carry out an internal investigation of the incident”.
