Worker left fighting for life in hospital after ‘unprovoked’ attack on Scots street as cops hunt suspects

A man who was on his way to work has been left fighting for his life after an ‘unprovoked’ attack on a West Lothian street.

The 41-year-old was walking along Brown Street in Armadale at around 5.30am on Monday when he was set upon by two thugs.

The duo, who were both wearing all black clothing, were seen running off in the direction of Harestanes Road having left their victim seriously injured.

He was taken to hospital where medics describe his current condition as “critical”.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who have camera footage to get in touch.

Detective Constable Rachel Royan said: “We understand this to be an unprovoked attack on a man who was simply walking to work.

“I am appealing for information from anyone who was in the area of Brown Street in the early part of this morning to come forward with any information they may have.

“If anyone has any CCTV or dash-cam footage of the area and the time of the incident, I would also ask them to make contact with police.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101 and quote incident number 530 of 1 November.”
