Works to renew faded white lines and the cat's eyes on a busy Renfrewshire road are due to begin next week.
The upgrade project on the A761 between Brookfield and Bridge of Weir is scheduled to kick off on Monday.
It comes after residents and elected members raised concerns about the state of the dilapidated road.
Councillor Robert Innes, an SNP rep for Houston, Crosslee and Linwood, said the work to enhance the markings and reflective studs would take place at night.

The new cat's eyes will be installed from near to the junction at Sandholes Road through to Locher Road, while white lining will be improved at locations along the A761, including bus stop and markings to discourage speeding.
Councillor Innes said: "Since being elected in May this is an issue many constituents have been contacting me about with safety concerns.
"Residents in Brookfield and surrounding areas use this road frequently and it is certainly not for the faint-hearted.
"It is an extremely dark road, many of the cat's eyes are missing and the white lines are non existent in some areas.
"With the darker nights coming in I know people were concerned that this work would not be carried out before the winter months.
"After raising these concerns with the roads department, I was glad to have it confirmed that this work will be going ahead, beginning on September 5, in good time for the darker nights coming in."
In July, Councillor James MacLaren, a Conservative rep for Bishopton and Bridge of Weir, said he had raised concerns about the condition of the road for more than a year.
He warned that motorists could "have their safety put at risk" if the work was not completed in time for the winter months.
However, at the time Renfrewshire Council confirmed its intention to complete the works by the end of September.
