Work starts on new Birds shop in Nottingham - what do you love the most?

Work is now underway to transform an empty Nottingham city centre property into a new Birds shop - the bakery that vows never to sell a stale cake.

A firm opening date has yet to be announced but it is scheduled to be sometime the week commencing October 21.

The new Birds shop will open in Lister Gate (Nottingham Post)

Former jewellery shop H. Samuel in Lister Gate - next door to Greggs - is being turned into a store by the Derby-based bakery, which is celebrating its centenary year.

Spokesman Mike Holling said: "There is still a lot to do but things are progressing very well."

Shoppers can't get enough of Birds' freshly baked loaves, cobs, pastries and cakes but what's your favourite?
