Work begins on new apartments on site of former Meadows Police Station

Construction of 21 new apartments has started at the edge of The Meadows.

The apartments are being built on the site of the former Meadows Police Station on Meadows Way West, which was left vacant in 2015 and demolished in 2020.

The private rent apartments will benefit from 20 private parking spaces and are due to be managed by Nottingham LiviNG, which is part of the Nottingham City Homes Group.

Nick Murphy, Chief Executive of the Nottingham City Homes Group said: “This is an exciting new development, creating contemporary, high-specification apartments for local people.

"Nottingham LiviNG already has apartments for private rent in the Meadows, and is taking great strides in offering renters more great housing choice in the city.

“Redeveloping this high-profile site on the tram route will transform the area, creating an impressive gateway to the Meadows and NG2. We look forward to seeing the work progress and letting these apartments next year.”

Construction delivery partners are East Midlands based GEDA Construction.

GEDA’s managing director, Aaron Hughes, said: “We’re delighted to be involved in this project and to be able to continue our excellent working relationship with the Nottingham City Homes Group. We look forward to delivering another high quality scheme that provides an attractive alternative for private renters in Nottingham.”

The apartments will be completed and ready for letting in early 2022.
