Work on 'unique' family homes in Edwalton to begin in summer as land is sold

Work could begin on a 'unique' housing development in Nottinghamshire this summer after land was released from greenbelt.

The plot in Edwalton, off Melton Road, has planning permission in place and has been sold to developers Hoxston.

Up to eight four and five-bedroom homes are proposed and the houses are expected to be popular with professionals and families.

Ann Taylor, a development team director at Savills in Nottingham, which sold the site, said: “This sale marks the start of a desirable and sought after residential-led development in Edwalton.

"The site itself is unique, having been released from greenbelt, and is situated within an attractive, private green oasis; whilst also benefitting from accessibility to West Bridgford and the surrounding amenities.

"We were looking for a developer to share in our vision of delivering a legacy exemplar housing scheme.

"Hoxston have a strong reputation of delivering high-quality, design-led homes in the East Midlands and they met the brief to deliver something special here which is what the site deserves.”

Phil Crawley, director at Hoxston, said: “This is going to be a unique development set in a superb location.

"We intend to work on a revised scheme to offer a more contemporary product and are currently working on the house designs, which are looking superb.

"We are very excited to have secured this site and enjoyed working on the acquisition and look forward to showcasing our vision for the development very soon.”

Ben Tebbutt, director Box Property, which acted for Hoxston on the sale, added: “This is going to be a very special development.

"We have been working with Hoxston progressing the house designs, which will provide large, modern, open-plan contemporary homes for the West Bridgford market.

"We will shortly have information packs available and I would encourage interested parties to make contact with us for an early preview.”
