Work has begun on the construction of a new overtaking lane on the Monaro Highway, north of Baroona Road, Michelago.
The $3.5 million project to create a new northbound overtaking lane will take four months to complete and is expected to impact traffic as works are ongoing.
Work will take place on weekdays between 6.30am and 6pm and between 8am and 1pm on Saturdays.
"We are delivering road projects between now and the end of the year, in addition to the regular program of work, to keep people in jobs, deliver investment and ensure the network connects communities to services efficiently," NSW Deputy Premier and Member for Monaro John Barilaro said.
Motorists should allow 10 minutes extra travel time and follow directions including reduced speed limits.
Transport for NSW thanks the community and motorists for their patience while work is completed.
