Work has begun on a new hotel in the Baltic Triangle that will feature 116 rooms and overlook Queen's Dock.
Newry Construction has men on site delivering the large hotel on Norfolk Street in the city's tech quarter.
The name of the new facility is as yet unknown, but it will be run by EPIC Hotels, with Elliot Group the developers, as BusinessLive reports.
Founder Elliot Lawless said: "We’ve submitted a planning application to vary some of the façade treatments and the basement but we’re cracking on with the initial ground works in the meantime.

“It’s good to be working with EPIC Hotels again. They really understand the dynamics of the Liverpool market and their product offer is exceptional. Baltic has been crying out for a hotel of this scale and quality to serve the area.”
On Thursday, men were pictured on site operating heavy machinery, beginning initial site clearance works.

The hotel is one of three the developer is progressing, having announced plans last week to vary planning applications to include hotel offers at its Aura development, on site in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter, and its Park Lane scheme overlooking the Royal Albert Dock.
The group says it chose the Baltic Triangle as it's the hub of the city's growing technology scene and a "focal point" for leisure, employment and residential development.
The group says the development takes the value of Elliot Group schemes on site or in planning up to £1bn.
The company has live projects in Salford, Liverpool and Gateshead, with Newry also on site at The Address, the final building in Elliot Group’s £100m Wolstenholme Square project.
