Work is set to begin on a £34m 'high-spec' apartment block at Holbeck Urban Village later this month.
Existing buildings are already being demolished - making way for the 31-metre high Sweet Street building.
It will house a mix of one, two and three bedroom rental apartments complete with a basement car park.
The homes are expected to be completed by the end of September 2021.
Builder Tolent's regional director John Currie told how they hoped to deliver 'incredibly high-spec apartments delivered in an up and coming area of the city'.
He said: "We have a lot of experience within the residential sector and this will be another fantastic addition to our portfolio.”
Philip Taylor, chairman of developer Oakapple Group, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Tolent on this project.
"As a Leeds based-business it’s great that we’re not only bringing this investment into the city but also working with regional teams like Tolent’s Leeds office to secure local jobs.”
Tolent was formed in Tyneside in 1983 and - delivering a variety of contracts from industrial, leisure and more recently student accommodation.
