Bristol to Worcester is becoming an increasing path well trodden in the Gallagher Premiership with lock Joe Batley the fourth individual in the Bears first-team set-up to swap Ashton Gate for Sixways Stadium.
Batley, who has been on loan at Leicester Tigers since December, joins forwards coach Jonathan Thomas, scrummaging coach Mark Irish and academy manager Mike Hall for the 2020/21 season.
The arrival of the 23-year-old, whose Bears contract was expiring on June 30, completes a prosperous 24 hours for Worcester as they also confirmed the return of England forward Matt Kvesic from Exeter Chiefs for the 2020/21 season.
Utility forward Batley, who can play lock and back row, signed for Bristol in 2017 but was diagonosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in his first season before undergoing six months of chemotherapy.
The 6ft 6ins forward has made nine league appearances for the Bears, six in the Championship and three in the Premiership last season. He last featured in the Premiership Cup defeat to Exeter in October.
"I have enjoyed working with Jonathan Thomas and Mark Irish over the last three years at Bristol," said Batley.
"The chance to continue working with them was something that really excited me. I enjoy their coaching ethos and how they want the game to be played."
Warriors director of rugby Alan Solomons was hired a coaching consultant at Bristol in 2017, not long after Batley signed for the club.
"He is a big, athletic, young English lock, who has worked with both JT and Iro which will be of huge benefit. He is also a first-class bloke," Solomons said.
