Newcastle United fan group Wor Flags is appealing to supporters to help them collect what will be the biggest flag to ever be unveiled at a European ground.
The flag, which has cost more than £15,000, needs to be picked up from Poland and the group are hoping that someone can come forward and provide the transport - either free of charge or for a cheap rate.
It is hoped that the flag can be collected in time for the Liverpool game at St James' Park on May 5.
Fans are waiting in anticipation to see flag unveiled. It is made up of landmarks of Newcastle, and the names of every fan who donated towards the flag.
A spokesman for Wor Flags told Chronicle Live: "With the time constraints on getting the surfer made in time, and the costs of haulage to bring it to the UK, we have decided to go and collect it ourselves and split the driving between three of us to get it back on time!
"We need a van because of the sheer size of it, so we would be very grateful for any recommendations of a fairly priced van that we can use to make the trip to Lodz in Poland. We always go the extra mile to improve the atmosphere at St James’!
"We can’t wait to show it off. It’s been a very stressful process getting it ready on time, as we didn’t expect to raise the money needed so quickly.
"We’ll be more relaxed when we have it in our possession and making our way back to Tyneside."
