K-Pop star Woojin has left the group Stray Kids and terminated his contract with JYP Entertainment.

The singer’s decision was made “due to personal reasons”, a representative said.

JYPE wrote on the group’s official fan messageboard: “Woojin, who has been with Stray Kids as a member until this time, has left the group due to personal circumstances and terminated his exclusive contract.

“We express apologies for causing trouble to many fans with the sudden news. As a result, Stray Kids’ mini album Cle: Levanter, which was scheduled for a 25 November release, will be delayed to 9 December.

“We once again express apologies to the fans who have waited for a long time.”

The statement added: “We ask for much support for Woojin who will be going on a new path, and we also ask for the warm support for the eight Stray Kids members who will once again go on the road towards their dreams. Thank you.”

The hashtag #ThankYouWoojin quickly began trending on social media after the news emerged.

Stray Kids were formed by JYPE on the popular reality show of the same name, and released their debut EP, titled I Am Not, in March this year.
