Ariake Arena, a venue for volleyball and wheelchair basketball events of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, was completed and unveiled to the media on Tuesday in Koto Ward, Tokyo.

About 800 cubic meters of lumber produced in Japan were used for its walls and ceiling to emphasize a sense of Japanese style. The Tokyo metropolitan government started its construction in March 2016, spending about 37 billion yen.

The building's main arena floor has 15,000 seats and will be used for events such as international competitions or concerts after the 2020 Tokyo Games.
