Woodstock Homes reveals plan for 85 flats on industrial estate in Crew's Hole

Plans have been announced to build dozens of new homes in the Crew's Hole area of Bristol. Developers Woodstock Homes have unveiled proposals to create 85 apartments on an industrial estate next to the River Avon, where Blackswarth Road meets Crews Hole Road.

According to a consultation website launched by the developers, the one and two-bedroom flats will be targeted at "young professionals, families and first time buyers". And the website adds: "We focus on delivering homes to those in greatest need: future generations of doctors, nurses, key workers, young families and the next big thinkers, who want a place to call home."

The developers claim that the flats will provide "an appropriate response" to the "growing disparity between house prices and affordability". It does not say how many of the 85 flats will be 'affordable'.

The consultation also says that the site will have new "green infrastructure" and public open space as well as play facilities. The developers say that the current estate is "considered not to be fit for purpose in it’s (sic) current form".

A full planning application will be submitted to Bristol City Council once the consultation ends on July 31. You can view the website by clicking here.
