Woodside Ferry Village food market set to open next month - with popular Liverpool restaurant Bacaro confirmed

Merseyside is welcoming a brand new food hall and market - and it opens next month.

Woodside Ferry Village, which will take inspiration from Baltic Market and Altrincham Market, is set to launch in mid-June.

Based at Woodside Ferry Terminal in Birkenhead, the food-hall will see seven food traders plus a bar set up shop inside - and pop-up shops and businesses outside.

The venue will be bringing a whole host of food, music, arts and educational opportunities to Woodside.

Liverpool-based Bacaro is the first vendor to be revealed, launching a Bacaro Pizza Concession at Woodside Ferry Village.

The concession will be serving up Bacaro favourites such as pepperoni and nduja, and Capa de parma ham, mushrooms, mozzarella and ricotta.

Jonathan Poole, co-owner of Red and Blue Restaurants Group, said: “Nine years on and after successfully achieving the original business plan of opening four different, independently named restaurants in Liverpool, we remain extremely proud of the high-quality standards we maintain across our portfolio.

“We are now looking to expand our popular Bacaro Restaurant’s by opening a Bacaro Pizza Concession at Woodside Ferry Village, which we feel will be an excellent fit for our Bacaro brand and we are very excited by this new venture.

“We believe passionately that the food we serve and the way we serve it should leave each and every guest with a reason to return.”

Sharon Stanton, interim managing director for Woodside Area Community Interest Company said: “In creating Woodside Ferry Village, we have taken the influence and successes from other food hall concepts, both nationally and internationally, and we will be home to a number of high quality food vendors, with the opportunity to add further space through external containers which will be able to house pop-up shops and other businesses.”
