Whether it's warm or cold outside it doesn’t matter when you’re surrounded by stunning scenery.

Eastham Country Park, which is around a 25 minute drive from Liverpool city centre , is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll through the woods.

There’s a small cafe just outside the park entrance where you can grab drinks, ice cream, chips or a coffee to take on your walk.

The award-winning park, which is on the banks of the River Mersey, has a range of walking trails to take advantage of, so whether you’re looking for a short stroll or a lengthy walk, it's got something for everyone.

With a mixture of walking trails and open green spaces, Eastham Country Park could be the perfect picnic spot too.

The landscape, which can get muddy when it has been raining, isn’t ideal for families taking prams, so we’d suggest taking a sturdy buggy or baby carrier if possible.

Dogs are welcome on the routes, and can often be seen darting in and out of bushes.

Throughout the trails there are man-made structures, including dens and bear pits, as well as small ponds and a bluebell wood, for families to explore.

The Mimosa Tea Garden is situated next to the car park too, and gives the illusion of stepping into a magical world, filled with fairy gardens, quirky furniture and homemade treats.

A stroll through the park lasts hours if you take the long way around, but a short walk through one trail lasts around 45 minutes.

The park has a 4.5 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor and is the number one thing to do in Eastham, according to ratings on the site.
