A WOODLAND in Fife has been taped off by police following a sexual assault.
Emergency services were called to the Dunnikier Way area of Kirkcaldy at around 2.55pm on Thursday after receiving a report of the incident.
Police said that enquiries are at an early stage, but detectives are not treating the incident as rape, STV News has reported.
Officers have remained in the area, with images shared on social media showing part of the wooded area cordoned off by police.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.55pm on Thursday, September 11, 2025, we received a report of a sexual assault in the area of Dunnikier Way, Kirkcaldy.
“Enquiries are at an early stage and officers remain in the area.”
