There was a large scale police presence at woodland in East Kilbride last night where a body has reportedly been found.
Cops were seen guarding a cordoned off area at garage lock-ups on Lickprivick Road at around 8pm.
Detectives were also investigating at the scene.
Reports circulating on social media suggested a body had been discovered.
A witness told the East Kilbride News: "Something is going on at Lickprivick Road again tonight. There is a police cordon at flats down at the mini roundabout cordoned off from the flats right round to the wooded area.
"It looks pretty serious. Definitely looks like it’s a body that has been found."
A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed this morning officers are still on the scene but would not comment further at this stage.
