Wood importer to open new £3.9m Black Country warehouse

A wood importer and distributor is to open a new £3.9 million warehouse in Birmingham.

Falcon Panel Products has signed a ten-year lease for 43,000 sq ft at Merlin Park industrial estate in Castle Bromwich as part of its expansion plans.

The company was founded in 1986 and imports and distributes wood-based panel products from a UK network of depots including at a site in West Bromwich.

Headquartered in Essex, the company employs 112 people and has a turnover of £89.5 million, supplying customers across Europe and the rest of the world.

Managing director of distribution and product groups Steve Whysall said: "Our new location is a modern, larger unit with direct access to and from the M6 and A38, aiding the national delivery of our wide range of products."

Law firm Mills & Reeve acted for Falcon Panel Products on the lease deal.

Principal associate Graham Collier added: "Having worked closely with the team at Falcon Panel Products for more than 15 years, it was great to advise on another new site as they move onto the next stage of their expansion."
