Wood group finance chief joins board of Craneware

Healthcare tech group Craneware today signalled its ambition for further acquisitions in the US by appointing the chief financial officer of Aberdeen oil services group Wood to its board.

Craneware highlighted David Kemp’s “significant merger and acquisition expertise” as among the credentials which have led to his appointment as a non-executive director. Kemp, from Thurso, is one of two non-executive appointments to the board of the Edinburgh-based firm which specialises in revenue software for the US hospitals sector. The University of Aberdeen accountancy graduate has been CFO at Wood since 2015.

Craneware has also appointed US executive Alistair Erskine to its board. Erskine is currently the chief digital health officer of Partners HealthCare, a US not-for-profit healthcare system which is a leader in the application of clinical information technology to care delivery. He has held academic and governmental roles, including lecturing at Harvard Medical School.

Will Whitehorn, chairman of Craneware, said: “We are delighted to welcome two such experienced individuals to the board of Craneware. Alastair's experience both in the clinical and digital operations of US healthcare providers will bring new insights to help guide the evolution of our cloud-based platform, Trisus, while David adds strong UK plc board experience as well as significant merger and acquisition expertise. We look forward to working with them both to fulfil our vision of bringing value to the US healthcare market."
