‘Wonder Woman’ has found its writer for the DCU

For all our Amazonians, our journey with Diana Prince has been an interesting one. For years, we waited to see her take on the silver screen and with James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over DC Studios, her short-lived film franchise ended. Now, she’s coming back.

James Gunn has been talking about the future of Wonder Woman and did say that he is really excited about her next outing. And now The Wrap reported that Ana Nogueira, who also wrote Supergirl, is set to pen the script. There is no news yet on who is going to direct the new Wonder Woman movie.

Gunn spoke with Rolling Stone and addressed the idea that the movie was being “fast-tracked” because of the success that his Superman has found. “I don’t know what they mean by fast-tracking,” Gunn told the outlet. “I’ve always had Wonder Woman as a priority. But we got the first few things started, and there’s some other things that are really close to green-lighting – like there’s a television show that I hope that we’re gonna be green-lighting in the next few days.”

He went on to talk about how he plans on building out the famous Justice League. “So now a little time has passed, and we really need Wonder Woman and we really need Batman, because they’re so important to us. And so it’s become a little bit more like going to everybody at DC and being like, we need to figure this out. We have good writers on Wonder Woman and we just have to make sure it’s working and they have to not be somebody who’s gonna take two years to write a script.”

The last film centered around Diana came out in 2020 to less than stellar reviews. There is no news on who will play our beloved Amazon but I cannot wait to see Diana take to the big screen again with Nogueira’s script!
