Wonder Woman 1984: Chris Pine says the 'tables have turned' for his character Steve Trevor

Chris Pine has teased how the miraculous return of his character, Steve Trevor, will play out in Wonder Woman 1984

In June of last year, director Patty Jenkins dropped a bombshell by posting a first look at the DC sequel that included Pine’s hero seemingly alive in the 1980s, despite his heroic sacrifice at the end of the first film.

“This one is a little different for me tonally,” Pine told Variety. “The tables are turned, and I’m more of the deer in the headlights.”

The film will see Wonder Woman face off against Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah, with Game of Thrones‘s Pedro Pascal also onboard in a “pivotal role”.

Production wrapped last month, with star Gal Gadot posting several behind-the-scenes images on Instagram to celebrate.

“We did it. Again!!” wrote Gadot wrote. “And as much as the first time shooting Wonder Woman was amazing, this time was even more unique and special. We shot in four very different locations in three countries, and I’m so soooo proud of the almost 1000 crew members who came to set every day, giving everything they have into our movie.”

The Wonder Woman sequel, which acts as a follow-up to the 2017 blockbuster that grossed $817 million at the box office, is set for release in cinemas on 1 November 2019.
