Two women were threatened by a man with a knife in a terrifying robbery at a shop in Co Down.
The incident happened in the border town of Warrenpoint at around 6.30pm on Friday evening.
A man entered the shop wielding a knife and demanding money from two women working in the store.
PSNI Detective Sergeant David Stewart explained: “We received a report of a robbery at a shop in the Duke Street area of the town around 6.30 pm.
“The shop was empty when the suspect entered through an open door, brandishing a knife and shouting that he wanted money.
“Two women were working in the shop at the time.

“And one of them handed over cash to him while he continued to threaten her with the knife.
“He then fled the premises.
“While the two women were physically unharmed during the incident, it was a frightening experience for them both."
The suspect was described as being 5'11" in height, of slim build and was wearing a grey jacket, black tracksuit bottoms and a peaked cap.
He was also carrying a black-handled knife which was three to four inches in length.
Officers are now appealing for anyone with information about the incident, or who was in the area at the time, to come forward.
