The Thai women's volleyball team look to continue their SEA Games supremacy when they take on Indonesia in the gold medal match today at 3pm (Thai time).
The team are bidding to win the title for the 11th consecutive time.
They have already beaten Indonesia 3-0 when the two teams met in a group match earlier in the tournament.
Yesterday, they proved too strong for the Philippines as they cruised to a 3-0 (25-21, 25-17, 25-17) win in their semi-final at the Malaysia International and Exhibition Centre (MiTEC).
Captain Pleumjit Thinkaow, Hattaya Bamrungsuk, Chatchu-on Moksri, Ajcharaporn Kongyot, Pimpichaya Kokram, Pornpun Guerdpard and Piyanut Pannoy all took part in the match as coach Danai Sriwacharamaytakul fielded his strongest possible line-up yesterday.
It was Thailand's third straight win in the biennial tournament.
Thailand also beat the Philippines 3-0 at the Asian Women's Championship last week when they finished runners-up after losing to Japan in the title decider.
Indonesia edged Vietnam 3-2 in the other semi-final yesterday.
A win in Malaysia would be especially sweet for the Thai women who have complained about several matters, particularly transportation and food.
The Philippines and Vietnam meet in a bronze medal match today.
