The 2019 Women’s World Cup last 16 has been decided. Germany will begin their knockout stage campaign against Nigeria before Australia takes on Norway in what promises to be a close clash. Samantha Kerr has been in top form for Australia thus far at the 2019 Women’s World Cup, scoring five times to take a joint lead as top scorer in the competition alongside Alex Morgan.
Due to goal differential, the Matildas came in second in Group C despite finishing level on points with Italy and Brazil. Norway lost 2-1 in a decisive battle against hosts France in Group A, but they’ll hope forward Isabell Herlovsen can build off her two-goal tally to lead an upset of the Aussies.
