Women’s World Cup Schedule, England vs USA Live Stream, How to Watch Online, TV Channel, Start Time

Transatlantic allies will become rivals on Tuesday when in form England will face the United States in the opening semifinal of the 2019 Women’s World Cup. The Lionesses have clawed their way into the last four and are on the verge of booking a maiden World Cup final, with the winners of this matchup likely to be considered favorites for the title in France.

Women’s World Cup: England vs USA

The allegiances don’t come much closer than this at the Women’s World Cup, but both the United States and England will temporarily sideline their friendship with a tournament final berth up for grabs.

Phil Neville’s side drew 2-2 against the Stars and Stripes when these teams met at the 2019 She Believes Cup in March. Their only victory over the Americans came at the same competition in March 2017, when Ellen White’s 89th-minute strike was all that separated the pair.

Two years down the line, White is in hot form once again. She is one of three players still active in the tournament who boasts a leading tally of five goals, along with the USA’s Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe.

Co-captain Rapinoe has shown her leadership qualities with match-winning braces in the USWNT’s 2-1 victories over hosts France in the quarterfinals and Spain in the round of 16. Morgan hasn’t found the back of the net since she put five past Thailand in the United States’ opening 13-0 win, and England won’t be very willing to let her break the drought.

Ex-Manchester United defender Neville has instilled defensive security among the team, and England has managed to keep clean sheets in each of their past four matches. Since beating Scotland 2-1 in their Group D curtain-raiser, the Lionesses have an aggregate 9-0 goal record.

That stubborn defense has proved equal to just about any task they’ve faced so far in the competition, though the United States hasn’t failed to score in a fixture since July 2017 vs. Australia.
