England's Ellen White is batting to be the top scorer in the World Cup alongside USA’s Alex Morgan.
White and Morgan added to their tallies in the semi-final meeting between England and the USA to edge them ahead of Megan Rapinoe, with the trio tied on five before kick-off.
White levelled the score in the semi-final following Christen Press’ opening header to score her fifth successive goal in a World Cup, a new England record.
Gary Lineker scored in four consecutive World Cup games across 1986 and 1990 tournaments.
White also became England’s leading goalscorer in Women’s World Cups with her seventh in the international tournament.
