Women's T20 World Cup: Don't need to be told about NRR, says Shafali Verma

Harmanpreet Kaur's stellar performance propelled India to a resounding 82-run victory against Sri Lanka in Dubai on Wednesday, reigniting their semifinal aspirations in the tournament.

India was well aware that only a win wouldn't do the job, but the victory margin was crucial. Opener Shafali Verma, who put up a 98-run stand with Smriti Mandhana, said they always had net run rate on their mind.

"You 're a part of the Indian team, you don't need to be told about the NRR. We're all mature, it's on our minds," said Shafali at the post-match presser.

As opposed to their Lanka game, one of the biggest drawbacks in their first two matches was India's below-par fielding.

The opener outlined that the team has been going through intense training and that was on show against the Lankans. "We take around 30-40 catches during each practice session," stated Shafali, who struck a 40-ball 43.

India take on defending champions Australia in their last league outing on Sunday.
