Women's State of Origin will return to Queensland with hopes of selling out Sunshine Coast Stadium after the success of last year's COVID-19 impacted event.
As per a new scheduling tradition, the women's match will be held on the Friday before game two of the men's Origin series.
The two events will form an Origin super-event in the northern state in the last weekend in June.
Last year was the first time the women's event was held in Queensland, with the first two standalone games held at North Sydney Oval.
The crowd was capped at 4800 to watch Queensland's 24-18 victory over NSW, but in 2021 organisers are planning for a full house of 12,000 on June 25.
The date and venue were confirmed by the NRL on Tuesday on the Sunshine Coast as part of the finalisation of the women's schedule, which could be announced this week.
"Women's Origin is one of the highlights of our calendar and we're excited to see it return to the Sunshine Coast," said NRL boss Andrew Abdo.
"Last year's game was an incredible success, albeit with COVID restrictions. We're looking forward to giving the Sunshine Coast community the opportunity to fill Sunshine Coast Stadium this year."
