Women's March 2019: Best placards from annual rally in London

Since 2017, the Women’s March has become one of the most significant events for championing equality, with rallies taking place around the globe.

What began as a protest in response to the inauguration of Donald Trump as US president is now a key moment for women to get their voices heard, fighting for social change in a whole host of key areas from sexism in the workplace to the tampon tax.

This year saw thousands of people march through central London on Saturday afternoon under the theme “bread and roses” in commemoration of women’s suffrage activist Rose Schneiderman.

As ever, one of the highlights of the day was marvelling at the empowering messages plastered across the placards held by marchers.

From demanding “bodily respect” to quoting Beyoncé, see the best placards from this year’s Women’s March by scrolling through our gallery below.
