One year after winning the national championship in a thriller over Mississippi State, No. 1 seed Notre Dame will try to go back-to-back this weekend in Tampa Bay. The Fighting Irish dominated Stanford in the Elite Eight to advance, and will now face Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies in a must-watch national semifinal on Friday night.
The Fighting Irish received a surprise gift from Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, who recorded a message for the team and wished them luck in the Final Four. Curry sent each member of the team a pair of his latest Curry 6 shoes, along with some Under Armour swag.
“I want to see you guys go after another championship… We’ll be watching you. All the best. Go get it done.”
On the men’s side, Auburn and Texas Tech – two Under Armour schools – also received new Curry sneakers for the Final Four.
