Women pleads guilty after deliberately coughing on people in Cooma

A Jerrabomberra woman has pleaded guilty to breaching a Public Health Act direction after police accused her of deliberately coughing on people in Cooma.

Kiri Windshuttle, 41, appeared in Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday, April 6.

Along with pleading guilty to not complying with a Public Health Act direction, Windshuttle also pleaded guilty to two counts of stalk/intimidate intend to cause fear physical harm.

Magistrate Roger Clisdell sentenced her to a 12-month Community Correction Order.

New powers imposed in the COVID-19 pandemic allow NSW police to issue fines up to $11,000 and/or six months' jail for those outside their house without a good reason, or for breaking the social gathering restrictions.
